Illinois Teachers back Hanley for State Senate

Evanston, IL – Today, the Illinois Federation of Teachers endorsed Patrick Hanley for State Senate in the 9th District.

The Illinois Federation of Teachers represents more than 100,000 PreK-12 teachers, paraprofessionals, school-related personnel (PSRPs), higher education faculty and staff, public employees, and retirees throughout Illinois, including in the 9th State Senate District.

“As the son of a single mom of four, teachers played a transformative role in shaping who I am today. Their work and the work of the thousands of staff, paraprofessionals, and public employees are the backbone of education and community in Illinois. I’m honored to earn their support," Hanley said.

Hanley has also been endorsed by U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-9), the Illinois AFL-CIO, the Cook County College Teachers Union Local 1600, State Senators Laura Murphy, Julie Morrison, Adriane Johnson, Rachel Ventura, the Northfield and New Trier Democrats, and more than 40 local elected officials from across the district.
